Cardinals 3 Marlins 5

Dear Cards,

We lost the last game of the road trip, but it still feels as though this team is trending upwards. This is a good thing since the Pirates are in town today, and they are currently a half game ahead of the Cardinals.

This is a big weekend, boys. We can move into second place! 

I loved the team that played the last six games of this road trip-- I never felt as if the team had given up or was truly out of game.

Perhaps I should amend that statement: I love the team, hate the BLOWpen for messing up the team's winning swagger.

Braves 7 Cardinals 4

Dear Cards,

I am a bit scared. And confused from all these questions running through my mind....

Did we not win at all this weekend because we actually aren't as good as all our numbers say?  Have we just  gorge ourselves on inferior competition?

OR did we just play poorly? And are we still deserving to be considered among the best in the National League?

This weekend was particularly confusing after the convincing way you all manhandled and swept the Diamondbacks.

The Cubs are coming to town for two games. They are 6 games under .500, but at least they did  win their series against the Braves.  They have been playing tough against strong teams.

The Cardinals and Cubs are tied at 3-3 for the season series.

Play a good game tonight, boys.  Hard nine.
